BJ Penn in Matt Hughes' trophy room. Who would've thought huh? I think he's training with Matt for the Condit fight. It's good to see these guys collaborate. Wonder if they talk about how much they hate gsp, lol

in other news, there's rumor buzzing around that Alistair Overeem may sign with the UFC. And Lesnar may be back to fight Mir a third time. Also, Dan Henderson may come over and fight Machida possibly for #1 contender. awesome if any of these happen

Lesnar and Mir again?...It should be free or part of a stellar PPV card. The other items you mentioned are interesting though.

i actually don't care for Mir/Lesnar 3 at this point

but to be fair, anytime two people are 1-1, especially if both times was a stoppage, there should be a third. plus i can see the UFC doing it since it will sell

but i'd love to see overeem fight any of these guys: carwin, mir, kongo, brown, struve, big country, junior, lesnar, cain

and about golden glory, from what Dana has said, they don't do business the way golden glory does. golden glory is not only a fight camp, they are a promotion. they get paid, then they pay the fighters. Dana says, according to the athletic commissions here, they can't do that, they pay the fighters directly. I didn't look further into it, but if that's the case, i understand why the UFC did that. I haven't looked into it since then so I dont' know what else has been said and done. one good thing is that in a recent interview, Overeem still shows interest in fighting in the UFC
I've read where Dana White touched on the siuation with Golden Glory and it's not like I don't believe what he claims or anything but why does the athletic commissions have a say in how deals are made....What's that got to do with governing athletic contests?

yea i'm not sure either, that was surprizing to me as well

but i haven't looked into it too much either.

i read from a guy who is supposedly an insider from the ufc that's been leaking rumors that has become true, and it seems overeem has come to a deal already and they may be announcing it soon. he may be fighting as early as end of year/beginning of next year. we'll see

Let's be honest. They only want to bring Reem over so he can be exposed for not being in the elite category like the rest of the UFC's top HWs. Reem is good but I don't see him holding gold ever in the UFC. It would probably be 2 or 3 tough fights and losses and out the door he would go. Also, isn't he with Golden Glory too so how is it even possible.

I would guess that some kind of compromise is going to have to be made as there does not seem to be many other big name mma companies who can pay fighters UFC type money.

he makes good money overseas, he's huge in japan and europe, but right now he wants to build his legacy and the competition over there is not what you want to build your legacy on

he has to come to the ufc if he wants credible competition

Very true. Either way Reem won't be there for long. I can't believe Dan Hardy still has a job with the way they've been letting people go.

Dan's a popular guy in the UK and he has leverage being from UK, the UFC wants to keep him to continue the European market's interest. plus that was a great fight so knowing dana, anybody who goes all out like that will get to keep their job
