this was said months ago and was more an inside joke with him and Dana. He was mockin Dana for boeing so cheap. I personally have no interst in "super fights". If Anderson keeps wiping out 185ers then so be it. Not his fault he is a god amongst men. Just gives spider haters more ammo IMO. If you notice it is mainly newer mma fans screaming for this to happen. No one was begging for Rich Franklin to fight Tito or Chuck back in the day. People just hate the idea of fighters being unbeaten.

^this is exactly what I'd expect from a Spider worshiper. Too afraid to see their god fall.
 
Spider worshipper?.....anyhow,as much as Sonnen annoys me I've got to hand it to him for the tremendous con job he was able to pull off.He gets a title fight after coming off of a failed title bid and is able to promote and garner much interest in the Jones fight with his trash talking.I'd go as far as saying that he knew he had a snowballs chance in a microwave of beating Jones yet he made it seem Jones was in for the butt whooping of his life yet Sonnen is brave enough to face Jones and he gets the big payday.
 
Oh okay...Wonder where's that guy who was like the biggest Sonnen fan boy ever? I can't remember his name.

What good would come out of this fight?
1: If Silva wins then everyone will talk about how "Weak" the 205ers are. And people would never take the division seriously again.
2: If bones wins (which i'm sure he would) then at the end of the day a guy with a crazy reach, weight and height advantage wins. Jones is one of the most naturaly talented fighters to ever come along. His skillset 100% complements his physique.
3: what if neither fighter finishes the other and it goes to the judges. Even worse, what if it is a very close split decision? Then we would have to do a rematch. People would never be happy with the outcome, either way.

And I dont worship Silva, I just respect fighters that are that good. I think jones is gonna to go unbeaten for a loooong time.

And as for people wanting to see the best fight each other, then whats the point of weight classes? Truth be told I couldnt care less if Sliva losses. I have the satisfaction of reading people saying "he is ducking this guy" or "this guy will destroy him" and "this guys is a nightmare matchup for him" and then watching him destroy them again and again and again and again and again. And then in the same breath those same people say "well have you seen so and so? They could beat Silva but..."
 
Lots of points brought up but the good that will come out of the fight would be that we'd all get to see a damned good fight,hopefully,which is all this is supposed to be about..I don't see any damage being done to either weight class and speaking of,in the infancy of UFC there were no weight classes.
 
LOL, yeah we had the weight-class discussion earlier. Some of us (like myself) don't like weightclasses... IMO the best is the best.

But given weightclasses we have, Silva is BadA but I would love to see an underdog take him out.
 
It's just like in big time boxing.If the top guys who are close enough in weight are dominating their classes we fans want to see them fight each other and then they go back to their divisions and its business as usual.
