Sounds like he wants to come back. I mean, what great wants to go out like that? Hes fixated on Weidman. Pretty strong motivation.

The leg check thing, I'd feel my opponent got lucky and didnt exploit a skill to defeat me either

It's great that he sounds motivated to come back, but it may be an unwise decision at his age.

Checking leg kicks is a skill, though. Sounds delusional thinking he got lucky again. Dude beat him every round they fought in, "freak" KO, leg break or not.

I'm a big Silva fan but Wiednan beat him up in both fights and looked like he was on his way to knocking Silva out again in the rematch...not sure how successful a comeback is going to be but he should stay clear of Wiednan as the kid has his number.

I heard that Silva is already talking about getting back in there, but his surgeon said that he can't even train leg kicks for another year. As a Silva fan, this guy needs to hang 'em up.

Checking is a skill, the BREAK was luck. No one checks thinking i could break his leg if i do this right. Alot of people dont do it cuz it hurts yourself

I actually read an interview that stated They trained to do damage to the Legg via checks. Obviously that break was an extreme but it was done on purpose.

Yeah, with the intent of stopping it from being used in that matter because it had been so effective in the prior match, not to end the match. Thats the only part im calling luck, That it ended the match. They couldnt have trained for that

Agreed. I just heard that they intended to check kicks to hurt silva. Weidman makes comment of how destructive his Legg kicks were in the first fight.

imo, saying the break was "lucky" or an "accident" isn't accurate.

he trained the check to do damage. it's intended to hurt the other person while defending your own leg. it either causes them pain enough to limp, or stop throwing it for a while and in the extreme case, cause a break. chris and his team know that checking a hard enough kick can cause that kind of injury. sure he doesn't desire that kind of injury on anyone but if they throw it, he's gonna defend himself. and if the extreme injury occurs to the person throwing the kick, you can't really call that an accident and it definitely was an exploit of a skill that defeated anderson

it's like, if I throw a punch at someone's jaw, I may not mean to break it, I just want to do damage and i'm throwing it with bad intentions. if I land flush and hard, and the jaw ends up breaking, you can't say it was an accident. I may not have desired the extent of that injury, but I threw it to do damage. I think Weidman's counter to Anderson's leg strike is the same concept
