Only thing aquarium adventure has on them freshwater wise is in the african cichlid department. I still haven't bought a single fish from aquarium adventure and I have been there plenty of times. Only time I ever will is when they have 50% off fish and even then some species are pricey. i get 25% off all livestock/plants, and 10% off everything else minus live food and tanks. not too bad with that discount then, with few exceptions (meds being their biggest price hike it seems)
got one of my retics from there for $60 with the discount, a silver aro for $15, 3" chocolate cichlid for $3......cant argue with that.
I like privately owned shops a lot better, but once in a while I go to a chain store, as they are much closer for me. We have a Petco and a Petsmart, the Petsmart seems a lot better, but I know that can vary from town to town.

I remember living in Salinas, CA and there was a Petsmart and Petland (I don't know if it was a chain), but I always went to Petland to look if they ever got anything new. I was only up there for 3 months, but I did buy a RTCxTSN from them. I remember that the Petsmart up there had Koi in their feeder tanks. So if anyone is looking for some koi...
