Monster Energy Corporation vs. MonsterFishKeepers.com

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Other than the two being vertically elongated M’s that’s where the similarity begins and ends. They do not look close enough to each other to be confused in addition to not competing in the same market. To the best of my knowledge no one owns the exclusive rights to the letter M.

Case dismissed.

I dunno man, I love you guys, but looking at the logo I have to agree it's infringing.

How? It's the letter M. Does monster own the rights to the alphabet? Before long sesame street will only have 25 different themed shows because they are using monster's logo too, plus the character cookie monster is obviously an attack against them as well right?

I used to drink these at my old job. They would get me jittery as hell and make me feel like I was drugged out. :nilly:

Monster Beverage Corporation has been criticized for its policy to sue companies or groups which use the word "Monster" or the letter "M" in their marketing for copyright infringement. Examples include the aquarium hobbyist site MonsterFishKeepers.com [11], a beverage review site which published an unfavorable review of the Monster Energy drink [12] and a Vermont microbrewery which marketed a beer named "Vermonster". Monster Beverage dropped the lawsuit against the microbrewery due to the negative publicity the lawsuit generated [13].

In August 2012 the Beastie Boys filed a lawsuit against the company for copyright infringement over Monster's use of their music in an online campaign. [14]

Has anyone created a list of other brands/companies that use the word monster, the letter "M" as a logo, or a green/black color scheme? If not we should create a list of all other companies that could be at risk for a lawsuit.

+1 thought of this myself also.

McDonalds, M&Ms, Motorola, Monsters Inc, etc

Ya, it would be nice if one of the BIG BOYS would jump in and pretty much say "what are you morons doing? We got more money than you! Leave the non competition alone, or we will step in!"
