I like GG when they're about a foot and under. Anything bigger than that starts to look like Frankenstein. Some of you say they're not aggressive? Everytime I see one that's over that 1' mark, it attacks the glass when anyone walks by and looks at it. It's kind of interesting behavior, but MAN...IT'S UGLY WHEN IT'S BIG!

actually i have a white one pushing more than 20" mark :headbang2: ...it's definetely start to show some agression...everytime i walk over on the tank, it sure does attack the glass...unfortunately i haven't had a chance to move him to a bigger tanks...he's in a small tank now...i actually am going to move him to a bigger one pretty soon..

and IMO, it doesn't look ugly..the plump in the head make him looks bigger in the head...and the lips is so freakinly thick...will post pics later..

my questions is that is it ok to put the gouramies w/ other fish, such as black ghost, golden clown knife, silver dollar, and botia? all of them are pretty small though and easily got eaten by the gouramies (I think)...this might look like a stupid question, i know, but isn't gourami is a herbivora? the gouramis has eaten pelletes all its life...will he develop a taste for a meaty snacks? :naughty:

I had them both in my 150gal the red start bullying the albino had to move him to my 256gal the are both about 8"

That red tail GG has potential bro.

Hold on to it.

i love the albino one :hearts:

After seeing that Red Tail Gourami Giant that Phulltanks had, makes me want to go to the lfs and buy a small one and then PowerFeed till he becomes a beautiful Giant!

rtgg was one of my favorites. they are pretty common here in so cal (la area) as asian people like the red coloration on there fins. one of the lfs near where i live use to breed them in the back and sell off the baby for like $25.-$30 but they closed down.

it has been said that wild specimens have better red coloration.

sadly i cant see any pics cos of this odd rule where i have to post five times first???
