Monster grass carp spotted! What to use?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
HAH! No way is this monster 2 feet, when I say big, I mean this guy is BIG! My heart jumps whenever I see him, cause I've never seen a freshwater fish this big, I saw him tailing and I thought it was a giant redfish for a second lol. I just want a picture sooo bad.

my cousin caught one that was over 5 feet long and like 60 pounds. but be carefule because their head cannot support their weight to take a picutre. he tried to pick it up out of the water real uwqick to take a picture and then let him go and when he got him up to take a picture he ripped the head right off the fish do to its own body weight

Try dough baits made for carp. We had this korean bait that was dry powder then you add i little water to form the though worked great on everything. Smells like walnuts and cornbread.
Opps sorrey forgot to post recipe for other type of though. get cornmeal, some spirulina tablets and some molasus mix together. If to watery add more cornmeal. Grind the spirulina into powder for that algae taste, color and smell

Just read somewhere that using cherry tomatos and french fries works wonders? What do you guys think?

Did you want to cath the fish or Ronald McDonald? lol.

LOL!
Anyways...what pound test should I use?
Knots? I have an ugly stik which is pretty hard to break and a flueger spinning reel, which works pretty well for bass. Also, can you reccomend a line? I'm using berkley triliene but....for a 5 foot 50 pound grass carp, I'm not so sure.

Mate, you should be able to catch it with a 7 pound line if you let the drag off enough. Just play with it and tire it out.

Have you tried buying braided line? It's pretty good. The ugly stick should be bonza for the job.
