The thing is, there's so much food in this lake for this carp it eats only when it wants too. If it see's just a clump of algae, well, there's more right next to it, and there, over there, everywhere! I don't think it will make much of a difference, I have to try something tempting.

P.S.
Like the new barra avater! :D

Yes same here lots food like weeds, etc in the canals thus no reason for carp to take the bait and they seem to know its a hook .

I gave up trying to catch them hope you can post pic .

if i were you id go get the biggest catfish rod at the walmart or go to bass pro and get a haul ass snagging rod. thats just whatd i do.

This is my biggest grass carp and it was caught with corn while fishing for common carp.

Huge carp. I have never seen any bigger than 2 ft max. I have tried corn but nothing . Could be the 2 foot carps I see are eating well in the canals as no interest at all in corn.

I keep seeing this monster over and over again, 5 foot BEAST!
Tried EVERYTHING! But nothing! I'm ready to bring out the snagging pole but that can be illegal. Now what? I can't get a good pic because of the water reflection.

Yes forget about water pic. Unless he is still in about a foot of crystal clear water which is not a possibility than forget it.

lol I dont doubt at all that its 4 to 5 ft but in truth dont think he will catch it they just dont want to bite in this state.

Other states they do but here they seem close to impossible to catch.

lol i dont know if anyone has said this and i know its not for grass carp but you can make some really really sticky rice and when its really sticky had a bunch of ketchup but you need to get some pops to put on the hook and you let the rice and ketchup get nice and thick and let it dry up some but pack it around the pop on the hook and chunk it out to wear he may be or something! i dunno im just trying to help but i hope you catch him

You gotta respect a fish that is difficult to catch. Snagging such a fish is disrespectful to yourself and the fish. For a big old fish like that to end up injured/killed with a treble hook embedded in its back would be just sad & unfortunate.

Keep trying different methods of catching the fish by ethical methods. Resorting to snagging just shouldn't be an option.

If you can't catch it then learn from it - that's Ok, we don't win them all.
It'll make you a better fisherman & you will appreciate the fish even more.
