Monster Predatory Community Update, it's been a while...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
God your tank is awesome. The albino tiger o. looks like a bloody whale its so massive haha. Can't wait to see the new setup!

EDIT:
Looking at the size of your new tank I'd be so inclined to throw an arowana in there, provided that its a brollic silver that could hold its own with a lota girth lol.

Thanks. Albie is definately one of my faves. He's almost 4" thick.:D

As for the aro suggestion, I love them but they don't fit in with my mostly guapote theme. But, I did just get word today I may have a shot at a male mota. Who else thinks three breeding pairs of Parachromis in the same tank would be an awesome thing? I do.:D:grinno:

I thought while I was here, I'd throw a pic up of the last time the jags spawned three weeks ago. They should be at it again soon. Thanks again for looking.

Just hope your TSN's don't eat your smaller Parachromis-I take a bet that when the TSN grows larger your Freddy, Loisellis, Motas, GT, and Syndotis will turn into expensive meals!

I don't have any smaller Parachromis. And you should know me well enough by now to know I do my research. Why are you still running around claiming my tank is going to turn into an orange mushroom cloud? Just because you haven't been successful in the past housing large predators together doesn't mean no one can. You saw for yourself when you started the thread calling me a liar that there are plenty of people here who are doing the same thing I'm doing successfully (before that thread got locked for being a personal attack). Go find another thread to post your jibber jabber in. You already know you're not welcome in mine.

Pretty please give it a rest.:chillpill:

For those that don't know, this is the guy from the cichlid-forum who said my tank wouldn't last two weeks. The same guy who said if it lasted a year I'd be teh cichlid king (it's been 11 months now). The same guy who got my super long thread deleted on cichlid-forum (his name is trimac over there). The same guy who came over here and started a thread that said I was a liar because I said all these fishes coexist peacefully. The same guy that wants desperately to make me look stupid in some way. My tank and my story speak for themselves. The pictures tell the story. So does the 24 page thread on cichlid-forum with 11,000 views. So, sorry for the slight rant, but this guy gets on my last ever loving nerve.

Here's my thread on cichlid-forum...

Thanks. I've worked out a deal to trade the two tiny Slavinis (they've been growing out in my African tank) plus my female JD (she's been on loan to a member here for a breeding project) for the male mota.

Don't envy me. It's not going as smoothly as you may think. I've got about 40 1100 projects going on at the same time. This new tank and stand and all that goes with that plus maintaining all my other tanks. Plus a '63 Chevy pickup I'm doing bodywork on and painting. Plus, I've promised the wife I'll get new flooring down in place of the carpet in the room the new tank's going in. Plus I've been building a bike. Plus....:D

Here's a new pic of the stand. This is the top and base. The legs are all cut and will be in place tomorrow. I'll post more pics then.

Here's a quuick shot I took of Albie tonight before the camera's battery died...

And here's a little something I threw together in my spare time over the last few weeks. 1969 Triumph hardtail, jockey shift, springer front end, no front brake, kick start only, etc. I call her "Momma Tried". Ever heard of Merle Haggard?:cool-1::cheers:
