Come on. Wanna see the fresh pics..... The stuff is looking too mean. I want one for Christmas, Santa:D. Keep'em coming cause a lot of people are waiting for you man.

P.S. I had no idea there was a facility that produced AKs around here. I guess it doesn't produce that stuff for quite a while. Sounds weird enough.

Thanks a lot. I'll get some pics up this weekend, of the tank and the staining of the stand. Let's see some more of your jags too. They were looking great in your thread. :D

***EDITED TO ADD***
I should also add that the loiselli eggs were gone this morning with no signs of wrigglers. I guess she can't get it right with either male. Maybe she needs lessons from the jags? :) And I bought a big Mag Float for the new tank today. That should seal up everything I need for the new tank, unless I decide to make an undergravel jet system which I've been mulling over.

I'm super busy, but here's a couple of quick teasers with the pre-stain conditioner and one coat of stain.

I'm going to add at least one more coat of stain, maybe two. Thanks again for looking and thanks for this great forum. :thumb:

Good looking color on the stain - if you can afford it you should have some one with a spray gun put a clear coat over it/glaze that knows what they're doing. I used to do cabinet work and it makes a huge difference in the look of the wood :)

This is going to be beautiful. I can not wait to see this thing all set up, that stand looks incredible. I am sure from the pics of your old tank this one will be even better. How is Tiny doing? Best of luck, cant wait to see more updates!

now that's a stand and def usually only seen with saltwater setups for some reason. Thought it wasn't going to be brown???

Thanks for the tip, but it's too much trouble to move outside and I've been told I can't spray in the house.:D

Thanks for the kind words. As to Tiny, he's not doing any better. I bought some clove oil yesterday. I'm just trying to get up the nerve to do it.:(

It's not brown. Maybe the light is playing tricks or the fact that only one coat is on, but the color is MinWax Ebony. It'll end up black and a teeny bit transparent.

Here's a pic I got off of Google images of what the final color should resemble...

Whoever told you you can't spray in the house is a wimp, get yourself a mask, a good sized fan - open all the windows and put the fans by them so they're sucking the air out of the room and blowing it into the atmosphere - it works, and I've done it in the past.

Whoever told me I couldn't spray in the house is my wife.:D I'm not arguing that it can't be done. I'm just not allowed, lol. And I don't push my luck. She doesn't argue at all about giant fish tanks or building the stand in the living room. And because of that, I respect her wishes to not spray any more solvent type stuff in the house. Notice I said "any more". I've done it before with smelly results and a frowny wife. :D
