I think you should get a 200 gallon with a silver arowana for the top and a few bichirs. I know you really only wanted one fish but I think that a 250 gallon with a full grown silver aro, some P.senegalus and an ornatipinnis would be much cooler.

well, I beleive in allowing fish to reach thier full size potential, and I don't think you'd get a 40" silver in a 200G. I might do a 30G with a senegal, that'd be an economical option.
30 is too small for a senegal, they really don need a 48" tank IMO. A 40 breeder is good size for a couple.
Get the biggest tank you can, and get a silver aro and some bichirs. if you want a single fish (though I think it would be nicer with the bichirs) get a Jardini.
