Monster Tank Detractors..The Haters

People think I am crazy for having five tanks. I tell them about people on this site, they are wowed. Most people don't want to take the time to have 1 aquarium.
 
I tell ya it's the science people, it's the science, well and the challenge of keeping agressive fish to live together in relative harmony.....This is the only thing you need to explain to the naysayers...The Science, we're all friggin scientists. Then ask them what do they know about the nitrogen cycle or ph levels.

I hate to say it, but my fellow American is not interested in science. If I spout facts, I see the eyes roll.
 
Everyone who knows me thinks I must have water on the brain and that's why I love fish so much....

I smile and tell them at least I have a brain to get water on...

My BF even used to think i was mad...that was until 2 days ago when I made him come with me to pick fish and let him pick some to go in the tank too....Now even he's addicted and is currently cursing me for getting him involved lol...He's even said when we buy our house I can have a custom tank built into the wall!!! (I just haven't mentioned the fact that I intend to have a whole room devoted to tanks too) :naughty:


Of course up until recently it was the same old "not another bl@@dy fishtank! This house is a zoo" type comments, to which I replied "yeh, and your the worst animal of the lot"

some people think im crazy, and most of the girls that saw my silver aro i had that was like 2ft thought it was ugly and scary.
 
Man I have to tell you this

at school I am popular and all that good crap... but until last year everybody was like "you like fish?!" why fish.... I used to go on fish websites and they were like "why do you go on fish websites?" but then I said stuff like "these are the kind of fish I like and keep" then I would pull up a pic of a atf or something...but at my house when people saw the tanks they were mesmerized and everybody loved it... one time my uncle brought a bunch (5) of my 1-2yr old cousins and showed them the fish and none of them wanted to leave :lol:
 
Ya... LOL just the other day.... My wifes friend told us

"You have a retarded percepion of what cute is"...

HAHAHAHA we loved it!!!
 
My buds like to give it to me whenever i host a home game. I got three full time tanks and a QT/grow out that seems to always be on the go. the gf has a 15 with some fb toads also. But hey, they're all RC buffs (who spend tons of cash on their hobby) so I can rib em right back.

We always call each other "fish" when playing cards.
