Monster Texas cichlid brought into the fish store today

He's pretty beat up.. Well here's my flowerhorn who I bought damaged... He got beat up by another flowerhorn apparently.
He was in a smaller tank to himself maybe 40 gallons and he looked nice very pearly so I had to have him. He's currently in a 30 gallon hospital tank I'm treating him with salt. He started to finally eat so that's a good sign. I hope he doesn't get infected it's not only scraped off but a small patch is missing. I feel horrible for him. He was in my 200 gallon tank but him and my super red Texas wanted to mate and he got aggressive and so did she and she bite his kok lol
One good thing about the fish being in that thirty gallon is the relative ease in doing frequent water changes which goes a long way toward healing as well as keeping infection at bay.
Yeah some days he's awesome aggressive swims fine then at times he's sideways then recovers. I might leave him in there for weeks after he recovers to insure he's strong to put in my other tank. I paid 40 for him he was imported at 2 inches from Thailand the guy paid 100 or so for him.
