moon lighting

24 bulbs over 35" right? So probably 3/4 or 1 w bulbs. Considering the spacing I'd bet 1W bulbs.

I use (right now) two 36 inch, 30 watt, coralife actinic 100 percent true 03 blue in my 215g tank during the daylight hours, nothing at night, my fish love it as I have a swfo tank. I dont like using white lights during the day, my fish seem more peaceful with "purple" during the day, I prefer a blue tint but have a purple tint with these bulbs. I will use four bulbs in the future but right now my tank is cycling and I don't want all that wattage in the tank for fear of algae brown diatom blooms.

An interesting point. If you are having trouble with a bug eating fish not eating enough, moon lighting is great. (like an archer). You'll see a great example of this if you go fishing during the days around a new moon. Then go fishing in the same spot around the full moon. You'll find that many species of fish bite much more around the full moon. The reason is that fish can see bugs in the moonlight. So they spend more time closer to the surface during the days around the full moon. I don't know if this will help you at all. I just think it's a cool part of fish habit.
