mos90's 125 reef build.

From your biocube? Just do an h2o change, take your rock and put it in the change water and then net the fish out.

I have had to tear down my 125 now three times for fish related shenanigans.

i moved my clown over from my other tank last night. i lowered the water level as low i could. i took some par readings with the black eggcrates on and it lowered quite a bit so i left them off. of course my son gets home and found the clown had jumped out. im at a loss. i really want to run an open top but i cant see how its going to be possible with all my suicidal fish.

i going to at the eggcrate and try to lower my lights closer to the water and see if the par readings are ok.

Somehow the clown survived after 2 hours out of the water. Lucky.

I fragged the rest of the birdsnets. Was able to get 5 nice sized frags.

I ordered 4 fish. A 6" yellow tang. A 5" powder blue tang and 2 more ocillaris clowns from liveaquaria.

I hear them yellow tangs can get real territorial yet I see them everywhere - cool fish your gettin' I'd have gotten a powder blue myself save we got too much blue already - went powder brown instead - great personality!

Also glad your clown made it - our Blue Hippo was lost in a baffle for 2 months and made it.

Just a thought - I know salt corrodes metal but not sure how fast - they do make Reptile lids for 125's which have much smaller holes then lighting eggcrates also have trap locking doors for feeding access.

ive been fooling around with water flow. i had 1-mp40 on the left side and 2-1200 korellia's on the right. i didnt like the flow so i decieded to add a mag 6 to the right and move the 1200k's to the back on the tank. it didnt work out well, nasty sand storm even with the mp40 turned to 50%. i thnik i made a 4" sand dune on the left side of the tank..lol. so i decied to purchase another mp40 and leave just 1 of the 1200's on the back. i will see how that works out tommarow.

i installed the 2nd mp-40. even without the other powerheads im not able to run at 100% without creating a sandstorm.

update.

the tank is doing good. im getting some build up of some sort of brown algae on the rocks, it doesnt look like cyno.
im still running the biopellets. ive also started up the refugium and i am using gfo to lower phosphate at .04ppm. little higher then id like. could possibly be going threw new tank syndrome. some of my sps corals are not liking it.

tank is coimnig along nice. added 5 green cromis and 4 new corals today. this picture is with actinics only.

ive been so busy with work lately i havent had much time come on, but i wanted to give everyone an update.

corals seem to be adjusting well after 3 weeks under the leds. im not up to the intensity i need to be at yet. going slow not to shock the corals. ive been doing 10gal w/c's every 2 weeks. besides that just live phyto once per week. feeding 2 times per, lightly. plus nori 2 times per weeks for the tangs.

i jsut mounted a bunch of new sps frags last night but didnt get a chance to take picts. these pictures are from last week..
