The single most aggressive fish I've ever kept was hemichromis elongatus (5 star general). Not a new world Cichlid but definitely worth mentioning since they seem to fit your criteria perfectly. You won't find any for sale but look for hemichromis frempongi. Stunning and vicious!
this is very relative... i've seen convicts attack their owners hands when doing raqndom maintenance, i've seen a gt recently snap on the tip of someone's finger while messing around with the filter intake, red devils/midas are epically known for aggression but in no way are they the most aggressive, it depends on the individual fish.Midas Cichlid will keep you entertained. They are by far the most aggressive Cichlid out there. They're also kind of smart. Tilapia Butterkoferi are a close second.

I have an extra 50 gallon tank, can I put both a Butti AND a Midas together? Or just one of the two?
