MOST MISLABELED FISHES IN YOUR LFS

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Eh-

My favorite ones are when they mislabel and the fish is cheaper than what it really ought be.

Like the cardinal tetras are more pricy than the neons.

But whenever the neons are on "sale" and its really a cardinal tetra

Jackpot!

In my lfs i seen over the years....

I found an almost 3" fully colored male Ngara Flametail (along with some other peacocks) in a African Pseudo tank. All the fish listed on the tank were pseudos and $8.99. I asked the guy the price on the Flametail. He said it must be $8.99 like everything else in there; having no clue what he was! Right before I told him to snatch it out of there, the owner arrived and asked what the peacocks were doing in that tank. He corrected the price....$34.99.

My LFS sold me a baby "giant asian upside down catfish" as a "upside down catfish". The two are very different and if I would have known I wouldnt have bought it. they get huge and are really agressive, unlike the normal upside down catfish.

Or some guys came to buy my GT for their female. Sent me pics, turns out its a Flowerhorn, and a Male at that. They said it was labeled as a GT. They also plan on opening a tropical fish store...here we go, the mislabeling starts all over again.

Its cool, I'll help them out make sure everything is done the right way.
