Most overrated bands?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Any hair metal (Kiss is the worst offender) nu-metal and pop punk/emo. They can all go to hell.

Lep - I officially dont care for your musical taste :grinno: Foo Fighters FTW :headbang2 at least you agree that Kiss sucks.

I am not a HUGE Beatles fan, I love some of their stuff while other just bores me to death. Their early pop-rock stuff just makes me wanna sleep. But some of their later folksy stuff, harder stuff, and psychedelia is really good. You wont find me wearing a Beatles shirt or listening to them for several hours but I cant say anything bad about them.

Oh, and ANYTHING rap or hip hop is just automatically bad. I dont even need to get into radio pop music because... well... none of those people will be remembered in 10 years, so why remember them now...?

Bruce Springsteen.

Bruce Springsteen.

I used to be a huuuuge Springsteen fan before I really started listening to anything else. I only occasionally listen to him now. Funny you should post this though, I just posted a lyric of his on facebook... oh well. I can see why people might not like him.

Yeah, I posted that mostly to give you a hard time. ;) Springsteen had a few really good songs and a bunch of so-so songs.

Saying Nirvana is popular just because Cobain died is like saying Queen was popular only because Freddy Mercury died. Nirvana was popular due to exactly wha you stated, they are he fathers of grunge.
And the Foo Fighter were basically born out of Nirvana.

Overrated today to me would have to be Nickleback, and pretty much all of the "flavor of the month" hip hop and pop acts. Just my opinion, I am after all a child of the 80's.

Long live Motley Crüe!

Kings of Leon...what a waste of space, they're terrible. And Nickleback is the one of the bands on the tip of my tongue when I started this thread, I had just mentally blocked them. Foo Fighters is great though, one of the few groups out there that is just as good now as they were 15 years ago.

The Beatles, AC/DC (irritating vocals), The Who, literally every popular band/singer that has come up so far since the 2000's, Nirvana (can't stand most of their music), Poison, Dire Straits, DragonForce, Sublime, U2, Bon Jovi, Linkin Park (awful singer), Drowning Pool (awful singer + terrible lyrics), and Slipknot (same as DP).
