Motoro Rays

Im from Canada eh lol im in Ontario.
I have a DIY pond that I made, it wasnt very difficult and it was under $200 for the pond. I used a wooden base and put two layers of pond linear on the inside. The pond if 4 feet by 5 feet and 2 feet tall. I have a female ray that is about 14 inches and matured and two 10 inchers one is a male and he is just starting to get rolled claspers and one is a female. My female is about the same age as yours or younger. Good luck with your rays :)

I also have 2 rays in my 320g plywood tank. They seem to be doing fine and I hope that the 320g will be big enough for them for life. I just use straight tap water (with a python) with prime conditioner and have had no problems. The money you would save on water changes by not using bottled water would probably pay for a new larger tank.

If you have the room, a diy indoor pond would be better as I wish my 3 foot wide tank was wider. If my basement was larger, I'd love to make one.

She - Just curious what your water changing schedule is? What percent do you change and how often?

I do 50 % every 2 weeks but I guess it should be more from what everyone says. They are fine and I havent had any problems for the 3 years I have had them Coco got sick once from goldfish and I havent given them any since. They have guppies and baby convicts. What should the water change be

Water changing all depends on your bio load. If you use test kits then monitor the nitrates. When they start to rise about 40 or 60 ppm then do a water change. You can then re check after the water change and see how much they have dropped. I do a 30% every 3 days on a 200 gallon with a 80 gallon sump filter. I have went as long as 6 days and my nitrates only rose to 60ppm. Every tank is different.
