HF is cheap and good. Sometimes you gotta pay for the good stuff that can cost your hundreds or thousands. I have som hand tools, drills. etc from them. They have lifetime warranty on their hand tools so not an issue there but their drill got recalled for overheating and causing fires...lol I have the plug in type so I didn't get that recall. for 10 bucks brand new for a drill you cannot beat!If tanks that size are Rare in your area, and you really want it, I'd keep after it. Worst you can do is drive him nuts! If he really wants to sell it and really has a crazy work schedule (like mine) he will understand and make an effort at some point to make it happen. If his heart is not really in it, and you drive him crazy enough, he will let you know. Hope you get it after all this! Maybe in the end, you can convince him to drop a few bucks for the hassle of rearranging your manpower.
I am not sure I would trust your Harbor Freight suction cups. I've never used them but I've had both good and bad experiences with their tools. Something that heavy is not a good time to find out you're having one of those "bad experiences"!!
Sorry if I missed it in your post. Are there any steps involved in the moving process?? If so, 1 case of beer is not nearly enough my friend!

I think that for the rarity of that size tank and the price, I would continue to try to work something out. Just be ready to pounce and head over as soon as he says you can and if you don't have the help to move it right then, at least get everything else broken down and emptied so that when your buddies are ready it should only take 30 minutes to grab the tank, load it and go.
The guy put it on Craigslist for a reason, he wants to sell it. He is either just that busy or is not an ideal seller.
What's really going to be bad is when you get there and find out that this 400 gallon monster aquarium is actually just a 55. Lol
I agree with Travis... Keep going - I would! Keep us all posted!
