I bought a baby jag that had one of its fins torn off, great pet. People keep blind, stunted and deformed fish all the time. Its not a factor imho.

You're forgetting that MOST fish keepers will NOT buy a sick/deformed fish, theres exceptions to everything.

As for the people keeping those blind/stunted/deformed fish, Most of them only keep them because they were hurt/disabled under their care.

I doubt anyone that has the mindset of "Hmm, I think I'm going to buy a blind/ugly goldfish today" before they walk in a lfs.

nothing is consider to be a low grade for the owner of the fish...don't matter what ppls say bout your fish... all that matters is that you like it. as far as potential, just give it time to bloom out for you.

I buy hurt fish intentionally so I can make them feel better. I think that claymation Rudolph had too much of an effect on me when I was a kid.

And that's a lovely fish. I agree with that previous post that "there are no low grade fish, only low grade people". There's no reason to come on this forum just to insult someone's fish.

No one was insulting his fish, just stating what it is on Flowerhorn standards.

I think the fish looks great...

Also, What are these standards you speak of? I'm interested to see a listing like they have when it comes to "showing" other animals like dogs, cats, birds etc. Like an AKC Standard for Flowerhorns

Someone who comes on all excited about their new fish is likely going to be hurt when the comments are "its low grade". It sounds both dismissive and insulting. Just saying "nice fish" and moving on, or saying nothing, is better. Its grade doesn't really matter unless the guy is just raising it to sell anyway. If I were the OP, my feelings would have been hurt reading that stuff (although it could be argued I'm oversensitive).

So this forum should only have positive comments and no negative ones? Sorry but the OP used "MP".. It may be a MP to him but it isn't on the FH standards.;)
