mp flowerhorn! come look!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hm...this fish could very well be a MP to its owner! and that really is all that counts...not to any one else standers

To the OP.

Ignore all the haters, it is a very lovely fish! i hope he is all you want him to be!

Why is everyone being so sensitive? The OP asked what the potential is and people are giving their opinion. I don't always like what people say about me or my fish but I don't B#%&* about it. Grow up. Gotta take the bad with the good.
Also, Whoever said people are not being strict enough about FH is right. The lines are getting watered down by bad fish. My guess is that 90% of LFS FH's are low end.

He gets me:D

I am not the biggest fan of flowerhorns. Some MP fh's are not to my tastes, but I do understand why they are considered such and what determines the grade of a fh. I don't think anyone said anything too negative, they just gave their opinion relative to other fh's. I think the op has a nice fish, I have no idea about its potential as there have been stunning juvies that don't amount too much and visa versa.

Isn't master piece a matter of perspective? I could have a plain Jane "low grade" zz and in my perspective it could be my masterpiece fish. I'm just trying to figure things out. Also if I might ask how one can "grade" such a mutable hybrid strain of cichlid

If you like your FH that is all that matters. If you don't want to read about someone saying it is low grade then don't ask for opinions. Everyone is entitled to their own. This OP asked peoples opinions so there is nothing wrong with saying low grade. He obviously likes the fish so that is all that matters.

Thats like asking how you judge show dogs, horses, models etc. Once you understand those concepts, understanding how you judge flowerhorns becomes easier.

I have raised show birds and dogs. I understand how judging works, up until 2 years ago I was a certified poultry judge. Now, can someone direct me to a book of standards for flowerhorns?

Sorry for hijacking. I was just wondering what exactly constitutes a high grade fish.

Usually the ones on here, who like to insult other people's fishes, fallow a fish bible.I don't care if people degrade my fishes, cause I don't find anyone elses fish better than mine anyways, because I feel I made great purchases on my fishes.I rather treat everyone's fish equal, since majority of the time every ones fish has a unique personality or colors on this forum.
