Multitank Drip System

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Okay, it is clear the filter alone will not remove the chloramine. Also, there will be about .44 ppm of ammonia dripping in. The next option is to either buy another unit at wholesale cost of $450 and plumb it in series. This option still may not work, and if it doesn;t, the company refunds everything except of my plumbing cost.

SHould I try this option before going another route?

Should I cut bait and go another route with this? I was thinking about working with the filterguys.biz and just do a separate filter for the drip system (no whole house)

The ammonia concerns me but shouldn't my bio be able to handle that in addition to the fish load?

the pelican filter will be going back. I am going to try a new filter from friendsofwater.com I will keep you updated after the water company comes out to test for chlorine and ammonia.

Update: New water filter installed! Will be testing for chlorine and ammonia tomorrow and calling the water company for another "official" test tomorrow.

Free chlorine: 0
Ammonia: .4-.5ppm

Water company to test next week.

I'm going to experiment with a drip system on my 110g tank first. My hope is that the bio media will process the ammonia as nitrate and docs exit out the drain.

Plan "B" is that I could run a line through an RO-type filter with zeolite media.

Damn this is getting complicated for something that is supposed to make my life easier!

Not sure if the pics came thru...i just installed mfk on my phone

I'm going to look into having my water tested also. Just out of curiosity because I don't filter and my fish are fine. So it would be a good baseline for everyone.

Egon please do, I have been curious for quite some time when you mentioned you don't filter yours.
