Mummifying My Cray (Directions & pics)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well I got one out... Put him back in. They still stunk. From what I could tell they were preserved pretty good though. The one I took out lost most of his color unfortunately.

I took pictures, but the camera is refusing to upload them. I'll do it later.

Baking soda is a Oder absorber it will stink forever now, (it was yellow right?) u have to clean the baking soda off and let him air out. (if he seemed ready/ Hard as rock)

Hmm. Good point. I will attempt tomorrow. Debating if I should get some blue paint and paint their tops or not.

So you think I should paint it or leave it? I just got some spray shellac. Should that be fine?

Shellac is great, actually i should have thought of that. Is it a high gloss form cause that would look really nice ;).
I know shellac comes in color tints, if yours isn't a blue tint, and just clear finish, then ya i would definitely suggest painting it. The sides of the torso shell on mine were black like ur's but i matched the color to his natural color and it looks mint now :)

If u look carefully at my pics u can sorta see were the black was. I then used black permanent marker for the eyes.
