I admire the people who stay a heathly diet day in day out, 2 years ago my doc told me that I needed to lose some weight to be better off in the next 10-20 years, so i tryed tons of diets none seemed to work till I tryed the low-carb diet, I was on that diet for 1 1/2 years and lost 120lbs and ive since gone off the diet but keep my carbs below 400 a day to keep the weight off. I quit drinking sodas except the clear diet no caffine ones, i mostly drink water though. I still smoke but ive gotten to were i only smoke a pack every 2-3 days, thats something im working on quitting. I only drink on occasion but its mainly social drinkin. Since ive lost the weight my doc says ive done what he wanted and to keep it off.

Now a month ago I lost my glasses while on vacation and when I went to the optometrist to get new glasses and she seen something she didnt like so she sent me to an opthamologist, he says im in the beginning stages of glaucoma. Wow i just went on about everything lol, but i know how hard it is to stay on diets at first and how hard it was to get off caffine, my headaches were terrible and usually lasted 3/4 of the day but as my body got used to not having it, they eventually went away. So stick with it and the main thing is have the will power to keep it up.

TStephens, that's power, man. Keep up the good fight. All your work is an investment and I can't imagine having to lose 120 pounds. I lost thirty and would like to lose ten more, but it seems to be more difficult than I anticipated. Good job.

I work nightshifts and got 2 babies around the house.
Kicking that coffeehabit is out of the question!
But I regularly only drink non-caf-drinks for several days.
Works for me.

Do you want to get off of caffine or coffee? Tea is not bad for you and a good alternative to coffee in my opinion, but I think it contains more caffine than coffee just a slower release. I used to drink several cups of coffee during the day now I do one cup of tea in the morning.

it is called willpower

I was able to quit coffee by buying a large cup and drinking it through out the day. Did that for a couple of days... then went to smaller cups.

I had to do it cuz on the weekends when i don't drink coffee... my headaches would be so painful, I ended up just eating pure coffee grinds and painkillers to get rid of them...

Now I just have to quit smoking... I am doing a bit less than a pack a day which is a bit of an improvement... patches didn't work, just ended up smoking with the patches on, cold turkey is impossible, cutting back was only an illusion.

Anyways, good luck man

Wow. Thanks. You just fixed the world.

So I was getting a bad headache and bought one little cup. But that's all. Only one to curb the pain. I'm shooting for none today, but might end up with one cup of decaf it the pangs hit. So far, it's an improvement.

why not try to cut down like you do with most drugs rather than going cold turkey.

instead of a large cup buy a medium for a week or two then a small and then try 3/4 regular and 1/4 decaff then half & half. gradually getting to full decaff. if it tastes ok mixed that is, i wouldnt know cos i hate coffee.

i know how hard it is, be it caffeine or oxycodone, so good luck.
