I think you must have got some from the evil batch, my 2 are soft and I never have any problem with them nibbling things they shouldn't (touch wood)

id really like to have an arrow but dont want to keep the pond covered or have to deal with jumping

yes, except for the RTC, which i could pretty much call a rescue, i bought him when we was about 8" at a LFS, he was in a 20L

ive seen many outdoor arowana that havent tried to jump. keep us updated. pics I adopted two 2 and 1/2 feet silver aros. I tried hard to cover the circular 1,000G Intex pond, one of them still jumped through the small space and died. So I stopped covering it and the other one has decided not to imitate his buddy's folly.
