My 190 gallon tank - suggestions are welcomed

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Tetraodon lineatus
Tetraodon mbu
Tetraodon miurus
Tetraodon pustulatus
Tetraodon schoutedeni

obviously mbu and fahaka are too big but heres some other species!-0

The link for the snakeheads wouldnt load.

But thanks a bunch for the puffer species name, ill check them out tonight and see if i can keep anyone of them.

I love puffers! I have a dwarfpuffer in a nano, and it's pretty entertaining.

parachanna africana!-) not sure how aggressive they are mind...

Fahaka puffer would be fine in a tank that size. Tetraodon Pustulatus and Schoutedeni are two of the rarest puffers out there; good luck finding either. And I wouldn't recommend T. Miurus. They only get 4-5", but can't be housed with anything else. They're very cool, but it's kind of a waste of all that space as it would pick off any tankmates over time.
Parachanna Africana would be great, but they are hard to find. If you liked your old Parachanna Obscura, a group a Channa Lucius would be good too. They have a similar look and do just fine in groups.

What about the fahaka and the plants?

Won't he chew them for fun?

I had mine trim the odd Anubias, but mine were quite tall with about 10" stems. You may not want to risk it, but it was a rarity with mine. I found that it was harder on fake plants. It never touched the Java Fern or Bolbitis.
I would still vote for a group of C. Lucius or C. Pleurophthalma though.

Great tank bro, I have lots of the same plants!

I would get 1 giant black ghost knife or Duck head knife they are cool and personable and fun to watch!

1 giant red tail payara with big fangs fun to watch them eat!

Thanks!

I love those plants, easy to maintain, low demands, yet very strong green color and beautiful. Going to add some iron after cycling for nutrition

I've never heard of that knife fish, do you have some photos?
