my 20g tank is cloudy...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
maybe sell all your fish supplies and get a sock puppet

On MFK, that sock puppet requires AT LEAST a 100 gallon within 4 months...

I think he got the idea after the first person screamed "get a 1000 gallon tank." That is not going to help the situation in the least bit by just yelling the same thing at him. I know I was like him when I first started, I bet you were the same. He just went in over his head with his first fish. That should be a reason to help him more, not flame him till the point he doesn't come back. I'm pretty ashamed of most the mfkers for flaming this guy when he came to us for help and advice.

Back to the op, were you able to get a test kit and check your parameters? Also, did the water clear up after doing a water change?

thanks to you citrinellus.., ;p i just need advice., dont yell at me., im only starting bt i want to start wid a georgeous fish., so i decided to register here so i can have good tips,, cozz i know MFK members are veterans.. two thumbs up for this site.....! my tank is now crystal clear! my 2 inch australian aro eats mealworm 10 pcs for the whole day!

Good to hear, just keep up with the water changes and plan on upgrading soon.

I recommend you upgrade when they before they hit 5 inches. These fish need a lot of swimming room.

Man sorry for being so harsh, you are just a begginer...

I agree with Citrinellus when he says upgrade when the aro gets like 5"

I would second the notion of just getting the full size tank now. It would cost alot of money to upgrade all the time. You could get a pretty decent 1000g pond setup for a significant reduced cost to that. I see that you live in the phillipines, so you have tropical temperatures there. you could set up a pond outside, just cover it with netting so no predators make a meal of your pets. Then, if your dead set on getting them inside, you could take your time building a large plywood tank, or indoor pond. One of the most amazing exhibits I've seen was an indoor pond with 2" acrylic around one side. It's in the washington zoo, in the amazonia exhibit. Something similar could be done with plywood, and keep it low.
Some people have very little tolerance for newbs, especially when the animals we love could be in danger of possible abuse or neglect. It's not to say that you knowingly did that, but many people can get their hackles up about this sort of thing. It's really because we care, so don't take it seriously. MFKer's are by an large a good group.
