MY 300+ GALLON BUILD

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Start some updates i applied 5 gallons of zavlar liquid rubber, i was getting about two coats of the full tank per gallon. i left a half gallon to coat and install my filter divides, for those i used 3/8 ply wood coated two times then coated the seams to get them to stay in place. changed the plan on the filter because i couldn't silicone in glass like originally planned.

here we go again filled the tank half way tonight no leaks so far, maybe fourth times the charm.
i let the tank dry for more then a week and the filter for four days. i read in other post that bringing it out in the sun helps it cure and with the nice days i been having i dragged it out side for two days. i also read somewhere that zavlar won't become hard if not exposed to uv light not to sure how true that is but i did notice a real difference in the texture after leaving it in the sun.

notanatheist Where are people buying Zavlar? Especially in the U.S.? If it's supposedly so cheap I want to be ready to buy a gallon when I'm do my test fill.
i bought it from home hardware i paid 170$ or so for five 1 gallon pales. go to the liquid rubber web site and look at their distributor list see whats locally around you.

the tank has held water so we are starting to sheet it and work on trim work.
