hurry! i am ready to see fish :)

Should be moving into the new house in 2 weeks so it will have water and fish then, I am looking forward to it but I still have a lot to do before it is ready. Crunchtime is getting closer every day and I want this thing to look amazing, not just average so I am putting a little extra pressure on myself, but I wouldn't do it if i didn't think I could do it.

Ok everyone so I have been working like crazy sanding these pieces down, haven't posted any pics because I can't get any pics that really show the sanding, been using 60 grit sandpaper along with my dremel rotary tool to get The big pieces. Still got a little more to do, but I think I may have an idea to get it just the way I want it. but first how would you attach pvc to the wood if you can't use silicone?

Nvm, I'm just going to use silicone. Hope to get a chance to do some more on the tank tonight after work.12 hour shift yesterday had me exhausted. Hopefully will have something worth updating soon

Just wanted to post a comparison of how much space is taken up by the tree before I got some sanding done (which I am still working on) I am hoping to have wood back in the tank tonight. Not just to get to finish the project but the move is creeping up fast and this is one thing that has to be done.

Ok so last night was pretty productive, got to sanding down some more then I used my (i consider) brilliant idea and put it to the test.

When I realized the wood stays the same position it dries in a thought popped in my head, so after sanding key sections down I re-soaked the wood for a 2nd mock up..... Placed everything as close as I could manuever it by hand to close the gaps. Then I used a ratchet strap, the same ones I use to tie my bike down in the back of my truck, around the tree twice and tightened it down as much as it would allow without cracking. This closed the gap up almost completely so if it dries like this we will be all set with plants in key places and the root system along the bottom this will be a true tree!!!!
