Very good idea on the overflow it should look very good when your done. For crystal clear water add as much Purigen to you filter as you can and you will have clearer water than you can buy in a bottle, trust me you won't believe it until you see it.

your gettin there :D

I will look into that, thanks! I was considering the filter sock idea but without scrapping my already made DIY wet/dry I couldn't get it to work. But the purge should be fairly easy to incorporate to the wet/dry

And thanks for the comments everyone, still working on the roots and detail pieces, should have water in this thing next week, whether I am ready for it or not

Tree is siliconed in the tank, no pics because honestly when I take pics of it they look just like the last few pics I have posted, but some time next week I will have water and fish in it, oh and a pretty nice aquascape!

Biggest hurdle coming up now that the tree is DONE! is going to be putting the stand back together, we had to dis-assemble the stand to get it in the door. The problem with that was half of the screws were all stripped and next to impossible to remove with the limited amount of tools we had. So my buddy had the bright idea to pry some of the pieces off :screwy: and had started doing so before I realized it and so now we have to go buy some more 4x4s and re-do this giant puzzle,

pics will come of that for sure!

In the middle of the move so no internet at either place right now, but soon. But I have got A LOT done since my last update, sorry can't upload pics from my phone but as soon as we get internet setup at the new house I will put them up. The tank is on the rebuilt stand, filled with water and fully plumbed, almost ready for fish.

Have to give the bacteria from the established media time to set up fully ( using feeders ), I am also using seachem stability so with established media and stability this thing should be ready quick, which is good because I have to have my other tanks moved this coming week!

By the way tank is still cloudy from the new sand but i still think those feeders are in heaven lol

Alright guys, internet at the new house should be ready very soon so pics will follow. But first a quick question, the tree being made of different parts has swelled at different rates as it soaked up water causing the gap I worked so hard to close to open back up even with the help of the silicone it still created a gap.

I want to fix it without having to drain the water for 48 hours to allow more silicone to cure. The gap is mostly at the top 6" or so. But the only filtration I have is from the wet/dry so that really won't work. I thought about during a water change getting above the tank and see how much I can move it by hand then maybe some hidden zip ties or something but first wanted to see if anyone else had a better idea, so anyone?

And sorry for the lack of updates I just hate updating knowing I can't post pics, but the fish are in the tank, actually entire fish room is stocked just have to finish the detail work

And my first ray will be coming in this next week, male motoro pup pretty excited. Got to grow him out a little before he hits the big tank, or my tsn just might have a ray taco lol

How are you going to keep a ray in with the bark around the overflow? From the looks of the pictures, I don't think the ray could get around it, so he'd be stuck on one side of the tank?
