I really don't think the bark is taking up that much more space, my tsn gets through the gaps with plenty of room to spare. If it appears to be a problem then I will rehome the ray. I refuse to keep an animal if I can't give it adequate housing. The good news is this will be only a grow out stage as I am also planning on an 8x4 footprint to be my next tank( no center overflow) but I really don't think the ray will have issues with the bark but if it appears to be a problem I will address it, have no fears
 
Anyone have any more ideas to reclose the gap I mentioned about 4 posts back without silicone? If not I may just see what I can do while the water level is low during a water change with a zip tie( hidden of course)
 
Interesting, hadn't considered that. Has anyone else used the pond repair sealants.? If so how did it work for you, also is it something that would allow me to keep water flowing through the wet / dry? Or would I need to drain the water and attach a canister for a couple days?

The crack between pieces on the bottom pic will be covered by rocks and fake plants, so no worries there. biggest problem right now is thepieces where the silicone came apart.... still havent went and got the pond repair sealant.... two reasons first work has been crazy busy getting ready for xmas and 2nd i wanted to see if anyone else had used it or if they had a particular brand that worked for them and where can i get it

That overflow looks great! It will really look good once some algae starts growing on it! Please get rid of the white PVC return pipes! I'm sure they are just temporary but after a while your going to get comfortable seeing them there and never look for another option! lol My returns are right at water level and the pump is powerful enough to push the water to the bottom of the tank for complete circulation. That’s what it appears your trying to do? Keep the updates coming! Looking good!
 
Oh yeah, sorry I meant to mention the ugly returns are only temporary, I like the idea u mentioned though, thanks I might use that
