do you know what type of peacock bass u have?

Peacock bass are monos. The male will be euthanized though as soon as I get my hands on some clove oil. I've done EVERYTHING I can for him. He has just been sick since I got him, and he's just been going down hill. Poor guy....

ohhhh u are moving
thats gonna be one huuuuge task
what are u planning for the cats as a temp accomodation

do document the move, as quite soon i might be moving my kitties to a temporary place till the current pond gets renovated

I have the 385 gallon fiber glass pond which is currently hanging in the garage above the car. We're going to set it up as a temporary holding tank at the new house, move everyone up there, and then take the time we will need to dismantle and rebuild the system.

if you're going to be moving in orange county let me know. i move tanks on the weekend for a buddy of mine that has his own business and can always lend a hand or two...

We are moving to Claremont. Hands are needed if they're available. :) Not sure when this is going down. We're thinking to be fully moved by May 15th.

That puts the mind to ease
do post pics or a vid, yeah a vid will be better, of the people wrestling the kitties out.

i wanna keep a score as to how many times the kitties are gonna smack the people.

My kitties were quite small when i moved them the first time from there tank to the pond, now i don't know what i am gonna do, as last week while feeding, one of them grabbed my fingers and didn't let go even while i almost dragged him outta the water

I'll try. When it's only my husband and I it's not possible. Fortunately, we've got a system that works well. We have what is basically a giant plastic custom strainer. :D I have a heavy duty, clear sterilite storage tub that I drilled in strategic places so they cannot catch their pectoral spines or get scraped up. I should post it in DIY section. It's AWESOME for catching these big guys between the lid and smooth surfaces. We moved my sick hybrid out using that. I have to get into the tank to do it, but we got him out without a scratch on any of us. Although he soaked about a 10' radius of the garage). I didn't drain the tank at all that time.

Oh, and yeah... I quit hand feeding when I realized my hand would fit in their mouths. They're still super friendly, but I'm not quite as nervous, though still cautious, about cleaning the tank anymore.

I looked threw all the pictures and watched the videos and..
:clap
Very impressive! I don't even want to guess how much food you go threw. But I am curious :D

Depends on how many water changes I'm willing to do. :) Sometimes, if I know I'm going to be really busy for a few days, I just won't feed since it can foul the water so bad. However, this tank usually eats 1-2 cups a day of hikari pellets(sinking cichlid gold, algae wafers, sinking wafers, annd massivore) 4 times a week. It adds up fast. Plus, they will get tilapia and shrimp on occasion. When I'm introducing a new tankmate, I feed 2 cups daily plus tilapia and shrimp. Within a week and a half, they get over the novelty of their new roomie, and no longer inspect them to see if they are a potential meal.

when/where?
