Iam trying to get my wife in to it but its not coming along so good lol.

Mine recently split the cost of a $3,500 xanthic florida gar with me. This is a type of companionship that I only dreamed of as a young fish nerd!

Hmmm. Maybe she just hasn't found the right niche in the hobby. Planted tanks? The right fish? Romantic evening with the lights turned low, music on, some bubbly, and a comfortable spot infront of the tank? (dont talk about the tank!!!)

NICE! So you're the one that ended up with that fantastic beauty!!! Yeah. Last year out anniversary gitft, my birthday gift, and Christmas to each other was buying the tank and setting it all up. It was awesome. This year, we're enjoying some champagne and working on finishing up the auto water change together (Eventually, I'm going to have to cut off the power tools. :D)

If you're ever in NY we will have to go on a double date... at the New York Aquarium, of course!

So, I was given a pair of pbass, and it turns out they were large enough to go into the 600 with the big kitties. The female is showing some nice colors, but I think the male will need some TLC before his colors are going to come around. They were in with another pair, and from what I understand the other male was dominating the tank. He has some HITH, so I think he has a ways to go before he's 100%. I think just not getting whomped on will help him, but I also fed them some shrimp stuffed with medicated food last night. It will be interesting to see where he's at over the next couple weeks and months. They appear to be enjoying their new home tremendously, seem very relaxed, and are very interested in people.

Here are a few pics from last night a couple hours after the move (and no they aren't great, but they're photos) :

The male... I'll post updated photos in a couple weeks to see how he is progressing.

this might have already been answered, but more then 3 pages of posts are too much reading for my simple little brain... how are they doing?

You're on! Hardest part of that... finding a good, local fish sitter.

The male pbass I could not get to recover no matter what I did. He finally just quit eating all together and only got more progressively skinny. A lot of $ in medication later, I knew I could do no more for him. So, I decided to humanely euthnaize him with clove oil. The female is doing really well though. I was told they ate pellets, but she never has. I got her fattened up and treated for internal parasties, and then tried starving her for 3+ weeks, but she wasn't budging. After already losing the male, I gave in fed her shrimp again. Unfortunately, she has learned that I will stuff them with massivore, and chomps on them heavily to break it loose and spit it out. :irked:

I posted some sad quality phone photos in the catfish lounge recently, but I can't find my camera charger since the move. :( R1_Ridah just pm'd me, so maybe I can convince him to bring that awesome camera of his and snap some real photos sometime. I'm far enough along that with some new photos it's time for the move thread.
