wet-dry in action...it took 2 bags of bio-balls in the first chamber. Placed a titanium heater in the last....just need 78-80 F, very easy to obtain in South Florida...dumped a gallon of bacteria to start the cycle..

underwater view....not much to look at, except my few stones. Got to work on the decoration. Definetely bare-bottom, some large driftwoods,,,humm.
I wish I had a wide angle lens, but you get the idea of the view....

geez why didn't I think about that....so easy....all pictures posted in the Gallery under Tank & Equipment Setup....:)

Its been a long 5 days since I started this...now I'm happy. Just a minor leak on the timer's hose, fixed it quickly, no other problem except I might need a longer pipe for the W/D it splashes, but not bad...adds a lot of aeriation to the water. Added pond underwater lights in blue, for night viewing. A timer will switch from daylights to nightlights.... now the hunt for fish begins....;)

It is a 12" screw-on strainer, also available from Aquatic Eco Systems. It is made of semi-rigid plastic, like Rubbermaid products. Real neat. Look at the one I use for the overflow, it slides over the 2" pipe, same material, except this one has a sealed end. I'm sure this will slurp small fry, but then again...this is not a tank for small fish :D
