tested water this morning...no real change as of yet. will test again later tonight

you doing fishless cycle w/ Ammonia? Got my 55 cycled in 2-3 weeks. worked great!

Indeed. Using Seachem Stability. On day 3 of dosing.

Also have cheated a little bit, wrung out sponge pre-filter from other established tank into the 75g filters..

But are you also dosing with Ammonia also?

In the setup forum they talk about using a bottle of Ammonia as your introduction of Ammonia to ur tank to get the Nitrification process started

No ammonia here, Just using the Stability...

Already have ammonia levels - or well, have had. Last night water read as follows:

Ph. 8.3 - 8.4
Ammonia. .50ppm
nitrite 0
nitrate 0 (had a darker tint yellow)

Have also squeezed in pre-filter sponge from other tank. Im hoping by Saturday I'll see some changes. I shake the bottle like no other after each capful - looks like as talk about 'skim milk'

day 5. no significant changes in water params.

ph 8.4
ammonia .50
nitrite 0
nitrate 0 (still yellow/orange tint)

Ive taken further action of taking SOME of the bio-media from another tank - and placed it into filter in the 75 gallon. See if this helps.

Bottle of seachem stability exp date is :11/13... I shake it very well before each capful.

This makes me miss my tank... Your tank looks really promising... Good Luck!!!

=)

... Ammonia is still @ .50ppm

Got the eheim 2217 back-up and running today (had to install new propeller shaft). Hopefully the bio-media in that will help.

Anywaysssss. Over weekend picked up some rocks for tank. got a few lace rocks(onsale .19/lb) and some PA river rock (.23/lb)

Not so sure how to stack it or which rock to use. .Its really just for the calvus.
