My 9 yr old son's tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
He definitely seems to have a knack for Aquascaping which is great to see...

It'll be interesting to see his style develop as he gets older and learns about different live plants... especially if that tank of his is his first real aquascape job, since it definitely looks many many times better than when i first had a go at doing aquascaping...

Infact, if he keeps it up who knows, maybe one day we'll see him as one of the grand champions of the ADA Aquascaping contests...

The pics aren't working again buddy guy.

Tried again ... hopefully they worked this time.

Thanks .... Yep these are his first ever attempts at aquascaping. The rainbow gravel (29G) was his first ever, the 55G is his second attempt (I guess kinda ... as he was fixing what I had in there and added some more), and the latest 29G was his 3rd attempt ... although he complained that I need to get more decorations and such as were basically out now.
He really enjoyed working with the real plants in my 55G, so that'll be his next request for his tank .... A better light so he can have real plants too.

there all quality set Ups especially seeing as he's nine years old , as he gets older you'll have to let him take charge of all your tanks he's got skills :D defo a mfk'r in the making

Wow. He did it again. Wonderful work. Too bad my son and daughter couldn't care less about my tanks. Your son can rework my 125G and 100G anytime. He has got the talent for these. Do let him have a look at some great aquascaping pictures then let him have real plants and all to work with. I would like to see what he can come out with. Another Amano in the marking......

Thanks for the compliment, as for him taking charge of my tanks ... I've a feeling that'll happen sooner rather than later.

Thanks ... yep he did it again, guess he's batting 3 for 3 on aquascapes. Him and I are always looking at different tanks and their set-ups ... whether here or out an about. Plus we are starting to talk about maybe venturing into CO2 and a new light for him. (Maybe another tank as well if Mommy gives the OK).

I originally posted his tank here, because I was damn impressed. Was hoping for a couple of compliments for him (for some reason a parent saying something is awesome, just doesn't seem to have the same meaning). But wasn't completely sure of how this thread would be received. After all there are so many beautiful tanks and setups on this site that we enjoy looking at.
I never expecting this many compliments and its left me kinda awestruck. But has helped solidify his desire for this hobby.
So I guess as he makes new strides into this wonderful hobby, I'll keep adding to this.
Thanks again.

All of them look great. Makes me want to rework my 75 this weekend. Can you ship him down to SC?

I'm glad your boy is encouraged by the replies here. I sure would enjoy seeing more Junior participation, especially working right alongside their parents. this thread has been a bright spot for me!
