You need to test ammonia and nitrites before a water change. If you do a water change that removes either one, then the cycle will slow down. Only do a water change once the ammonia or nitrite hits 0.5ppm. Then do a 50% water change. You want to maintain ammonia and nitrite close to 0.25ppm. Prime will protect the fish from ammonia and nitrite poisoning.

Are you using a liquid test kit?

I would not add the wood, wait until the tank is cycled. You need as much water volume as possible when doing a fish in cycle. Adding the wood will reduce your water volume.

yes im using the liquid test kit, random question though, i put the rose minnows in the blue dip with sherbert, i also did a change on the ten gallon, ive probably lost 4-5 minnows since last night :( I know they are cheap but i want clean minnows as a snack once in a grand while for sherbert. Think the blue bath did them in? I notice alot of the swimming at the top of the tank, then i check on them hours later and 1-2 are dead, water is clean.....

I have never lost a fish to methylene blue, even when I accidentally put 5ml for 2 gallon for a 30 minute bath.

Did you use the water from the 10 gallon? Or the bath that sherbert used? If the bath that sherbert used, did you have the same salt concentration in the 10 gallon?

In order to "clean" feeders, you have to treat with gram positive and gram negative bacteria medication to remove anything they are carrying. Then you have to follow with metronidazole, praziquental, and levamisole for parasite treatments. After all that is done, the amount of money spent on the feeders is not worth it.

If you want to feed him fish, use pieces of frozen tilapia or you could buy frozen silversides sold by the fish store.

Great read and a good job your here, some great advice given... live river shrimp will get him feeding imo, get some floating plants in there to give him some cover, plastic if you are dosing with salt.
Great job.

not sure they will help if he is refusing pellets, river shrimp will give him something to chase and are disease free and easy mouthfuls.... crickets is another option but need netting out if they are left.

Not sure, im in the uk and any good lfs sells them pal.
