500 gallons... wow. I pieced together a pool pump and some hoses to kitchen sink, going to try it out Sunday. I added seachem prime last night, i know it doesnt show on test, but im between .25- .050 ppms, so i should be looking good till tomorrow . I figure when i give him his bath ill pump and refill his tank at the same time for less stress, about to go to petshop in a minute to pick up everything. My fiancee is on the verge of leaving me because ive spent 3-4 hundred on Sherbert lmao. I really enjoy helping animals in need when i can.

does the pump allow you to vacuum the gravel with out sucking out the gravel? gravel needs to be vacuumed out atleast once a week.

I siphon everything out the window, or the sliding glass door for the 180. just use the python to fill.

a screen not going to work, that's going to clog in a heart beat. you have a vacuum tube? goes on the end of the hose for vacuuming the gravel.

you want to have a free flow out of the hose so all that poopie and such get sucked up and ether go down a drain or feed the grass.

was pondering on way home, when i filled tank i used aqueon water conditioner for 55 gallons, then when i got the prime (same tank water) i treated for 55.... Did i possibly overdose water conditioner, and for future do i just use prime over my water conditioner, or only use prime when ammonia and nitrites rise?

do not over think it or stress on it,, you are fine, folks new, and this includes me tend to over think things, and stress on it, do the water changes every other day, just dose with prime and let the fish be a fish, if you fighting any secondary infections dose as kaneplex says and above all relax. we do what we can, after that its all about the fish.
