My Anglerfish Feeding Video

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for the support buddy! :) Hopefully, this would be successful in the long term. But hey, it gives more excitement to this hobby haha. Coz we're still uncertain on what will happen in the future.

this fish can most certainly live a happy life in brackish water, but to be honest is there really any fish that is 100% "brackish"? that is an honest question, I'm new to brackish. but i am a VERY expierenced keeper of saltwater ambush predators, mainly lionfish, scorpionfish, stingfish, and anglers, and I know for a fact that this species of angler does live in brackish water. It's actually one of the reasons I want to set up a brackish tank. here's some "literature" http://www.frogfish.ch/species-arten/Antennarius-biocellatus.html

anyways thats a real beauty you have there!! I'm super jealous! where are you located? I'd love to get in contact with the lfs you ordered from to see about getting myself one

antenarious biocellatus is a frog fish frequently found in brackish, and often times way up in smaller rivers, from Papau New Guinea to Phillipines. Its rare in the hobby, as most angler fish are collected at sea, and those are the more marine restricted species.

this is an age old debate, as what is brackish. Its not salt that they need, its a composition of different minerals, and as for them being found in brackish, they are adapatable to a wide range of salinity. as you both have a lot of experience in this field, so do I on this subject.

I don't however believe in everything I read. Not just because its published its the truth. Science is ever changing and with first hand experience from people, anecdotal evidence, people's belief will change as time goes by.

I agree, a constructive healthy inputs are good., but often times it turns into war. I guess this is what you call freedome of speech right?

wow thats an ugly mofo,:WHOA:.. it looks like something time forgot witch could be a clue as to his enviroment what ever it its its rare

Forcing a fish to live permanently in conditions it may frequent, isn't the same thing. Find me any literature where it says it will thrive in BW long-term.

brackish, marine, freshwater, it's all relative to the fish. Some marine fish you can put in fresh water and they will do just fine and vice versa. Peta wanttobes don't belong on public forums.

Haha peta wannabes ive never heard that before imma start using that haha
