no thats just a reg blue crayfish its the aussie blues that get to be huge your guy will probally never get more than 6"

What do you mean by Aussie blues?
The crayfish is the begining post is a Cherax Quad(scientific name) or a Redcalw. Redclaw are native crayfish from Australia and they live there in 5 rivers and they are native to those rivers.
Redclaw are all aussies because that is where they originated.
What is a Aussie Blue? I ask because my husband and I import from the largest producing farms direct from Australia Walkamin Strain Redclaw every 6 weeks or so. We breed, raise , and sell them and we have been for several years. I have Never heard any of the farms in Australia use the term"aussie blues" unless they we denoting a color variation and that probably wouldn't have anything to do with size.
I will call my farms in Au and ask them if th ey have heard this term.
But can anyone else explain it to me please. Is it a specific type of cray and if so what is the scientific name?

That is definetly a Cherax Quad Crayfish and I can tell by the three ridges on the rostrum(nose) of the cray.

Great pictures.....
