How old is your brother? A turtle is an awfully long term commitment, one that quickly has the awe of a turtle taken over by the maintenance it requires. Responsibility for high-need pets is not something that every young person needs..

He just turned 12 very stubborn. He has his mind on a snapping turtle even tho I said no. And everyone said no. He said he wants either a turtle or a snake. But my parent said no snake.

Took me 7 years and an international move, but I got a snake haha. Although I started nagging when I was 4, where was his ambition? I don't want to be snobby or elitist, but a turtle is not a pet for a 12 year old

Awww come on, they don't want him having a danger noodle or a nope rope? Lol personally I love snakes more then turtles. Especially compaired to snappers. I'd rather have a highly venomous snake bite me rather then having a snapper take a finger or 2.
