that looks bad ass bret!!! Somehow it makes them look bigger

They do seem to look different now and they have definitely become more active.

you had a busy weekend!

Yes...I am happy that my neighbor helped with the entire move.

Looking awesome man, and they'll enjoy the sand much more.

Thanks to everyone on here who had some suggestions. I obviously used quite a bit of the information. Hopefully, I won't be posting in the Lessons Learned section any time soon.

Thanks. :) I have been wanting to switch them over to sand for about 2 years now, but didn't want to mess with pulling their nasty gravel out of the tank with them in it.

Now I get to start working on their old 180. I have a few things that I have been wanting to change before I move my cichlids from the 120.

not to derail but you didn't like your filter sock? I am just about done with my sump and used a sock, what didn't you like?

Around here they cost about $17 per and they are a pain to clean. It seemed to get clogged up after a week or so of use. I didn't want to keep buying them or trying to spend 15-20 minutes cleaning it out every couple of weeks.

The (4) AC110 sponges cost $20 and I already know that they are pretty easy to clean.

K thanks. Ya sorry about the derailment but I didn't think it was worth starting another thread about

Looking Good. I had the same concerns about socks. They are pricey and a buddy of mine that uses them said the same about weekly, complete, cleaning or it will effect flow rates.

Thanks man.

I had the same problem with the flow rate as well. Having those pipes lower in the water creates less mess. Once that sock would back up, it would start splashing all over my sump and stand.
