You really need a bigger tank for the fish you have. Can you get a job? Earn a few hundred dollars or so, and buy a 55 (or larger; the bigger the better :)) The weight is absolutely not a problem. I have a 75 in my room. For dithers in a 29 gallon, maybe small danios? Most of the popular ones are too big for that tank, like giant danios. They need a larger tank. Right now, you have several convicts, a JD, bichir, and more in a 29 gallon tank? Correct?

Your tank is looking great, you just need to sort out the stocking issues.

so what exactly do you have right now? 29g isn't a big tank, especially if you're keeping
cichlids. one male with three females should be enough with a modest size pleco as cleaner for algae.

you had/have? a great looking female con; never saw color like that. you tank was set up a lot better from when you first started this thread.

Should just keep things the way it was.

WHat happened you were doing so good, then you go and do a complete 180 degree turn

well i really want a good looking female JD and i am planning on geting a job but may as well get rid of the JD

Yes, please get rid of the jd's and get the cons back. I'm sure you recall the endless flaming on jd's in your 29. You really have to hold onto a fish for a few months to grow attached to it and appreciate it. This constant in-out never really gives you the chance to do so, not to mention the enormous amount of stress it is on the fish.

Did you ever get/keep any con fry?

Get a job in a fish store, you get paid and get a discount. I worked at the LFS in high school and it was cool, though as I recall my paycheck rarely left eh store :)
