How big does this fish get? Because Im told so many times to get only ONE species and that should be a small from Saxatilis family because thesefish need so much space...

And I also have a 140 gallon tank!

I think the ats are growing to be ca.30 +cm,i also think that it is right with only one species in a tank as we have. The two that are the bosses is problaby a pair.
It is also good that they are using some of their energy to guarrel with the Hoplarcus Psittacus,so they are not starting to fight themself.
As i have written before ,i have a lot of hiding places many roots, but saxatilis sp.are wery nice them to.Good luck.

what's the water parameters like ph, KH, etc..

Never done a test of that, but i know that the water from the spring is soft, and as you know i have a lot of roots and also youse much of cattabablades,so
the water is acid.Over the years i have had freeswimming larvae from c.saxatilis, regani and eggs from s.deamon.

A lot of mess when feeding, the ats are like a lighting ,take a lot of food and then hiding. Feding every other day ,sometimes every third day.As i have said in a post before i must take care when feeding them, are afraid that they will be chooked.Since the summer i have sold the 2 eheim 2080 that was cleaning the water ,bougt a eheim 2260 ,just to get the maintenance of the tank easy with not so many lines in.Found a eheim 2028 in the basement and cleaned it up and changed some parts ,connected it to the tank as well.Changing water 70% every week, very important with so big ciclids.Changing water is the best medicin to have those big ciclids fresh over time i think.
