^ were not really sure, I have a feeling he just wasn't keeping up on water changes and didn't want to tell me so I'm guessing it was nitrate poisoning or something having to do with a badly kept tank. That's the one that 8-9 inches now lol he's had it on worms and hikari pellets since day 1

ouh, i dont want tht to happen to mine. lol so how many times u change the water in a week? is it okay if i change for like once every weekend? well he's still small though.
 
^ yep that's fine, don't forget to clean decor that was my buddys issue. One of his plastic plants was encrusted with crap, I like to keep my nitrates under 20 ppm which some people think is overkill but nitrate inhibits growth and such

You'll be fine with a weekly WC and monthly filter cleaning, if you add more fish do more water changes though

yeah sure. but with the tilapia fries in it, they'll clean the plants off. lol how often should i clean the gravel ? and is it okay if i mix rock and sand substrate?
 
yeah, i do tht too on my water changes. but however, i find it very hard to suck the poop on sand. lol but i dont if u guys have this problem, maybe my siphon is not suitable for sand probably?
 
How doesn't it work on sand? There is a fluval gravel vac that has a sand guard that's pretty good at its job
