Don't want to hijack your thread or anything, but I thought you might be interested to know that I decided to get the fish that could use a rescue.

Call me a bleeding heart, but I will attempt to nurse him/her back to health and then decide what I am going to do when the time comes for me to move.

I only got a 10 gallon tank for right now though because I am going to use it as sort of a "hospital" tank so to speak. So, I am letting it cycle now and I will go back and get him in a day or so. Obviously if I want to keep him long-term I will have to get him in something larger, but I think this will suffice while I attempt to get his fins to heal.

I did put some sand in the tank, but it doesn't look as nice as the sand in yours. I am hoping that it will get less cloudy by tomorrow. I have never used a sand substrate before, so it is kinda new to me. I will post some pics of him once I get him...

Very nice fish - are yours wild caught? I'm certain the one in your avatar is S. leucostica, and you do have several pics of jurupari(they do not have as many spots on their cheeks).

ya im not sure who many are jurupari and how many are leucostica. i do have an ID thread. in the cichlid forum. the only one that i know is wild caught is my Gymnogeophagus Gymnogenys

Well, I picked him up today. He was sold to me as a G. jurupari, but it should have at least been labeled a S. jurupari at the very least. So, if anyone knows exactly what species this is, feel free to let me know. :D

Sorry the pics aren't the best but the sand substrate is making the water really cloudy and my lighting on the tank isn't the best either. There's also the fact that I am not that great at taking pictures of fish in a tank. (lol)

You can really see the damage to his fins in this last picture....

Again, sorry for the poor quality of the photos, but it gives you a general idea what he looks like.

Do your Geos and Satans show any aggression towards each other? I noticed that you have several in the same tank, all of various sizes.

satans fought with satans at first then i added more and now its fine

i swear the first pic of my Gymnogeophagus Gymnogenys Golden Wild Uruguay doesnt look good. i dont know if they are suppose to look like that when young..but he looks like a mut.
