My eartheatertank.

Beautiful fish and tank. I have a similar tank set up in my living room with G. Pindare and while they are more shy than I would like they look good in the tank. I placed some Urau's in the tank with them and they seem more at ease now but still shy and skiddish.

I keep a group Hyphessobrycon columbianus as tankmates for my Satanoperca mapiritensis group and would highly recommend them! They get large, stay in a tight group and have very nice colors. Blue flanks with red finnage. If your not concerned with keeping a true bioitope they sound perfect for you!
I'm actually quite satisfied with how Geos look alone in the tank - they are soo active that I (they, actually) really don't need any tankmates.
columbianus are very pretty fish, and I considered them as dithers... well, time will tell. I'm on my way setting up next tank, so I have no thoughts connected with 450Ltr. currently:D

Very nice. Neat watching them eat from your hand. You should consider adding a small catfish or two.
I thought 'bout that. If I find suitable ones - why not?

If Geos are small they need some additional time to get less shy. Are those Uarus similar size?

I'm still waiting for their first successful spawn, need to lower the pH and hardness (no time for that lately), but several interesting things have happened in the tank recently. Now I have three dominant males in the tank, two of them displaying to the same female all the time. One of them has been buliding quite large crater sticked to the piece of wood - reminds me of technique that is used by some Rift cichlids! Never expected something like that from Geophagus.

The third male turned out to be territorial just a couple of days ago, it rarely attacks other two males as his territory is hidden behind the largest piece of bogwood.

1-first territorial male,, 2- second, with the largest crater, 3-the "newest" territorial, maintains his home in quite dark place, while he is the most colorful fish in the tank:

also displays (sometimes) to the smallest female:

while two others fight for the biggest female favors

I've got a little bit bored with them during winter months, but now I'm really enjoying these fish! :D

That's great that you are finally getting some spawning activity.

Your tank is looking very, very nice! One of the nicer aquascapes I've seen recently.
