Its an expensive hobby to get into, most people have no idea until its too late... WOw the picture on the first page works now..

I only took a look at the first few pages, even though it sucks that they died during shipment. Everything was laid out in black and white for you.

I am sorry you feel that Alex (FishroomPlus) is a bad guy, cause I have had many great transactions with him.

My point was that if someone is so cheap that they are trying to beat you down on the price that I would just let them buy their fish somewhere else.

I don't mind if someone asks for a better price, I just explain that I'm giving them the best price I can while providing them with a high quailty product and service.

If they won't pay the listed price how do I know that they will spend the money it takes to care for the fish they buy.

I will give fish to people that I know will provide proper care but you can not buy any of my fish for any price (I'll admit that 1,000,000 would prob buy them) if I don't think you will care for the fish at least as well as I do.

He speaks the truth. I was given fish by Steve and he is one of my favorite fish. He bites me all the time but luckily he is still small enough to where it doesn't hurt.

But anyways I'm not trying to flame you here but I have seen this clause at a couple of fish sellers and it's too bad you wanted to haggle otherwise I'm sure you would have been refunded. He sells fish not used cars. Sure everybody likes to pay less for their purchases but c'mon. Oh and going back to the car analogy it's almost like buying an extended warranty. Except the price is built in for the warranty. You negotiated that away. He should bare no responsibility to pay for that. He also probably shouldn't have reacted like that but frustrations happen and that is totally besides the point of this thread. And should not have nuch relevance to this discussion.

This is actually the whole point of the thread. Did you even read the first 9 pages? Santoury acknowledges responsibility for not reading the policy more carefully. He is upset because of what he felt was a brush off reply Fish Room Plus gave him when he asked what the vendor wanted to do about the situation. $150.00 is a lot of money, as well as a lot of product for the vendor.

The intent of this thread is to announce the bad business practices Santoury felt he recieved. By bringing it to MFK he hoped to warn potential buyers of his situation.

This isnt my first shipment
foam box
double bagged
50% 02
tranquil
wrapped with 5 layers of newspapers
heat pack taped directly to the bag

 I realise that mate, was just curious.

Let me say from the start, you must be a quality seller or you wouldn't last on a forum...

There are 2 things i don't agree with though, your response on the 1st page and your terms&conditions...

I realise how annoying it must be to have people complaining and starting 4 threads etc. but you could of handle it a little better to save face for future customers...

Your terms and conditions almost come across as if not as much care or corners may be cut if someone haggles on the price. From your packaging you described and your experience in the trade i doubt this is the case... but thats kind of how it comes across...

Having said that, they are clearly stated and should be read...

IMO a much better way to do it would be to simply say, you will price match other vendors or you are already giving the best price possible.

Just trying to give you an outsiders view :)

santoury, i feel for you mate... it would suck to open a box and see that. :(

Thats right, I,m a fn' prick

I've dealt with him before and have a beautiful black arowana with perfect fins and scales to show for it. it arrived in a well packaged box with clean water and a heat pack.... not to mention the customer service was first rate as I had sent him several pm's asking all sorts of questions that he responded to promptly and politely.

so fishroomplus, what is this? keep your good reputation and cut the juvenile crap out. I will gladly deal with you again because you've proved your worth.

secondly... insults, disrespect, and a number of sarcastic passive/aggressive comments coming from mods and veteran members of this forum are quite a surprise. Yeah, I guess 4 threads is annoying if you're a mod, but if you're not you dont have to deal with them. ignore them. I actually saw somebody saying that they were "punished" with 4 threads on the topic. explain how an internet thread hurts.

This dude that started the thread should not be tarred and feathered for his bad experience, nor should he receive a refund for it. (if it's in writing it's solid). we should know about his bad experience though and I thank him for that. it should be left at that... a bad review. in the end, we'll make our own judgments based on all the positive and negative reviews. should I be flamed for saying I liked fishroomplus's services? If not, then I feel that I should not be flamed if I were to give them a bad review. we all gain from this, even FRP because of the number of people that gave positive feedback on his services despite a questionable comment he made.

oh, that's not entirely true, not everybody gains from this. the guy that started this thread loses out with lost money and dead fish. sorry bro.

Thanks, Phoenix for summing it up once again. No reason to get flamed for sharing my negative experience. I would expect anybody to do the same for me, if they had a bad experience with anyone. This only makes sense.

Was that your first purchase from FRP? Just wondering cause the first time I purchased from Alex, I paid Full price.
I ordered 2 fish from him. one died as soon as I put it into my tank, the other lived. Sucks but that was the terms agreed upon.
I made several other orders with Alex since, and since I was a return customer he gave me a little better deal on all the orders there after + threw in a bunch of freebies along the way to make up for the fish that was lost on the first order. He is a strait up guy and will def. order more fish from in the future.

I got caught up in a online purchse recently, the situation was quite different.

Are you implying that you don't want me to reach as many MFK's as possible, to let them make an educated choice about doing business with somebody who ripped me off? The reason for doing 4 threads is to reach more MFK's who might not visit this, or that forum. I strongly suggest starting a new forum, for bad dealer experiences. That would take care of it.

Phoenixx I did read the whole thread.....Did you.....From the beginning.....Did you reatain what you read......do you have selective memory.... Santoury made NO mention of HIS screw up until he was called out on it. This was NOT a post simply stating what happened. It was was more like watching CNN where you only see what they want you to. He came in making accusations of bad dealings. IMO this is untrue if he would have been more responsible in his dealings he wouldn't be upset. (sorry Santoury I was trying to get my point across without making you sound bad) It is HIS fault he is not recieving credit for the dead fish. IMO it is wrong to slander somebody's reputation without telling the entire truth behind it!! I think maybe that's why people who read the post were upset with him when they found out what actually happened. So the ENTIRE point of this post may have changed once he was called out and was honest about why he was not getting his money but IMO the point of the thread was his original intentions of this post.I have no idea what was said between them but FR+'s response was not that bad. I'm assuming he thought that Santoury would realize that there would be know refund and his response would adequete. It was not rude at all. While I'm sorry for his loss and wish him the best of luck with future orders from whomever he choses, FR+ IMO does not deserve to be badmouthed for this.

You all can rip on him for his post about him being an f'n prick if you want but he was upset and using obvious sarcasm and will not defend that.
