I love characins, no way I can pick a favorite, neons?

how big is the tank, and what else do you keep it with...i remember seeing a tigrinus catfish in there.
do you feed it piranhas everyday?
does it swim alot? any nips at the other fish, like the stingrays?

Hi folks,
Due to my English is not good. I will do my best to answer your questions.
1. This fish I keep 1 year. (From last Oct. until now, and the size is from 8cm grow up to 40cm.)
2. The tank size 180cm*60cm*105cm(H)
3. I feed pond loach now. The pond loach size is about 10cm.

Thanks for your kindly reply...^^

Wow! What an incredible animal!! That payara is gorgeous. Does it hold it's own well against your peacock bass? Please post more pics in the future. Thank you very much for sharing! :)

Btw, does anybody know what the current record is for size payara kept in captivity??

man, you grew that monster yourself? wow, this gives hope to the other hobbists that growing payaras to that size is possible in the aquaria

Yes, I grew this fish by myself and I changed the tank 3 times.
1st time, the fish is 8cm and I keep in a small tank. (60cm*30cm*30cm)
2nd time, the fish is 15cm and I keep in a middle tank. (90cm*60cm*60cm)
3rd time, the fish is 25cm and leaves in a big tank. (180cm*60cm*105cm)
In my experience, payaras have many species, some of them are small species....

That is awsome,

There are so many characins it is hard to pick best, Rhoadsia are cool, but so are some of the ordinary ones like Ancestro's, and even congo's and other africans like Brycinus...

Lets see other peoples list.s
